What Is Plan Management?

Plan management is when a registered NDIS provider with accounting experience supports you to manage your plan funding, and pay your provider invoices on your behalf.When you select to have your Plan managed, additional funding will be added to your plan to cover the costs of your Plan Manager meaning it does not cut into your existing funding. A Plan Manager Will:
  • Process and pay your provider invoices, ensuring invoices comply with NDIS price limits and guidelines making sure you get the most out of your plan
  • Handle your provider payment enquiries
  • Stay on top of your budget by monitoring over spending or under spending and notify you when funds are running low, helping you make informed choices
  • Send you monthly statements so you can see exactly where your funding is being spent
  • Share your expenditure with your Support Coordinator, helping them make informed decisions to get the most out of your plan
  • Assist you to connect with like minded providers maintaining Choice and Control of who provides you the important services
  • Provide expertise knowledge, helping you to navigate and understand the complex world of NDIS funding
  • Assist you with submitting quotes for additional funding
  • Help you to make informed financial decisions for your Plan Funding

Did you know there are 3 ways to manage your plan funding?

Self Managed Plan
A Self managed plan gives the participant complete control and flexibility of their plan funding, allowing the participant to use any provider that suits their needs being registered and non registered providers, however the participant or representative will be responsible for processing claims, navigating the NDIS portal and payment guidelines, aswell as paying their providers on time. This can be a heavy burden for those who are not computer savvy or who have a busy schedule.
NDIA Managed Plan
A NDIA managed plan is handled completey by the NDIA, payments are processed internally taking the burden from the participant completely, however there are limitations with providers as any service paid for under a NDIA managed plan must be a NDIS Registered Provider. This limits some of the flexibility of choice to providers that may be more beneficial to your needs.
Plan Managed Plan
A Plan managed plan is the happy medium, having a knowledgable plan manager on your side to take the responsibility allows you flexibility in choice of providers as well as knowing your providers are paid on time, and your funding is being monitored to reflect your plan outcomes.Having an Independant Plan Manager on your side can also provide helpful industry contacts as well as on call help with any Funding queries you may have.
